The homeowners of this modern new build in Prosper, Texas looked to Signature Illumination Designs to upgrade their outdoor space with a custom lighting solution that adds sophistication and creates a welcoming outdoor living space to relax or host friends. Working closely with our landscaping partner AquaTerra Outdoors, we crafted a unique outdoor oasis that exceeded expectations.
In the backyard, we designed our lighting solution to highlight the yard’s unique design features while adding much-needed points of illumination. We installed hidden multicolor tape lighting on the steps leading to the sunken fire pit to create a sophisticated seating area perfect for evening entertaining. The colored lighting offers a soft transition from the pool to the seating area, cultivating a cohesive, modern atmosphere.
This backyard retreat also includes a custom putting green. We installed stand-alone putter holders with built-in lighting surrounding the course to maximize usage and ensure putting doesn’t have to stop when the sunsets. Our favorite technique to incorporate into properties with putting greens is puck lights installed inside the holes. This subtle technique not only helps golfers easily track their ball but also creates a sophisticated putting course that adds to the overall design of the backyard.
The front of the home is outfitted with strategically placed uplights that keep the space well-lit and bring attention to the gorgeous landscaping and texture of the exterior. The walkway is properly illuminated with strategically spaced path lights to ensure visibility and add an interesting design feature that contributes to the overall motif without distracting from the landscape.
We installed a back-lit address marker to draw attention to the oft-forgotten but arguably one of the most important features of the home. This unique feature not only makes it more visible but adds curb appeal and establishes personality. Near the front door, we installed oversized sconces to create beautiful shadowing that highlights the architectural features of the home.
