Many of us are spending a lot more time in our homes and are becoming keenly aware of the confined space we have indoors. As the restrictions imposed by the pandemic continue, it was important for these Dallas homeowners to have an outdoor area where they could spread out and enjoy their beautiful backyard resort.
With fall just around the corner, now is the time to invest in your outdoor space to ensure you have a dedicated area to enjoy the cooler temperatures and reconnect with loved ones. For this one-of-a-kind resort-style pool and landscape designed and installed by Complete Landsculpture, Signature Illumination Designs developed a custom lighting design scheme that would blend comfort and design to maximize this outdoor oasis.
In order to amplify the beauty of this property, we needed to divide the backyard into zones. To do so, our design experts used a variety of lighting techniques incorporating blue lights with warm, intimate lights to create separate outdoor living spaces that blend together into one cohesive design.
Installing the correct lighting systems around a pool not only enhances the space, but it also works to establish the mood and atmosphere. To complement the pool’s tranquil body, our professional lighting designers sensitively integrated crisp blue lights into the pool area. At night, the water gently reflects the light across the night sky, transforming the backyard into a serene, relaxing beach resort.
Equal parts form and function, our team installed blue tape lighting that wraps the steps near the fire pit to ensure the walkway is easy to navigate while adding to the ambiance. To add a touch of color to the sea of blue, we installed backlights surrounding the fire pit, creating a secluded tranquil space right on the water.
To ensure the resort-style ambiance will be felt throughout the entire property, we installed lights in the tall canopies of the trees. The light mimics the glow of the moon, casting delicate shadows on the environment below, instantly elevating the property. This lighting technique not only serves as a functional necessity but also a decorative element that adds a natural effect without overpowering.
To finish this project, we installed warm uplights at the base of the bamboo lining the property, creating a sense of rhythm and definition that naturally draws the eye across the landscape. The lights work to soften and shape the property while adding a soft glow to the backyard oasis.
