When you live in a location as stunning as White Rock Lake, you have to be sure your home lives up to the spot. When the owner of this lakefront house called on Signature Illumination Designs for custom lighting that not only complemented the natural beauty of the property, but also readied the space for entertaining friends and family, we were up for the challenge.
Uplights shine on the trees spaced out across the front yard, creating a warm, glowing grand entrance that is simultaneously striking and welcoming. Inset ledge lights installed in the stone fenceline illuminate the edge of the property, allowing for no dark corners. The homeowner loves to entertain and wanted their home to look the part. The bright landscape lighting, twin sconces on either side of the front door, and backlit house numbers ensure guests can easily find the party and that the home stands out on the shoreline.
We added path lights in the grassy areas for additional visibility and to spotlight the landscaping. These path lights also balance the illumination from the ledge lights in the retaining walls, creating a nice symmetry.
When the homeowner isn’t hosting friends, they’re hosting their grandchildren. In a yard with so many steps and elevation changes, it was essential to provide adequate lighting that ensures children’s safety when playing at night. We installed ledge lights under every step and retaining wall that provide both safety and style.
In the pergola, we added cozy lighting that makes it the perfect hang-out spot and contrasts with the cool tones of the pool area. It looks over the whole space, from the pool to the home to the lake and the Dallas Arboretum across the water. Our lighting design makes the pergola a focal point and increases the practicality of the space.
